24th Mar 2017 Concrete Industry News, Kryton Buildmat Co. Pvt. Ltd. by Yvonne Lee

Annually celebrated on 22nd March, World Water Day raises awareness about the importance of freshwater, advocates the sustainable management of freshwater resources, and also takes actions to tackle the global water crisis. World Water Day also highlights required improvements for access to WASH (water, sanitation, hygiene) facilities in developing countries

Kryton Efforts

As a pioneer in crystalline concrete waterproofing products and systems, Kryton is a firm believer in the conservation and management of freshwater resources. We believe that water is an essential resource not only crucial for survival, but also vital for economic, social, and human development. Globally as well as in India Kryton has vehemently supported the campaign of World Water Day and has been actively involved in the quest for sustainable development, especially in infrastructure aimed at fresh water management such as dams, reservoirs, canals etc.

Our innovative solutions and high quality range of waterproofing products provide reliable and cost effective waterproofing solutions, the effectiveness and efficiency of which  is reflected in the integral role we played in the repair and rehabilitation of Yogivemana Reservoir located at Anantpur District, Andhra Pradesh.

The Yogivemana Reservoir Story

Owing to the cyclonic rains of 2001, there was a heavy inflow in the dam which led to numerous damages and leakages. Combined with the hollow concrete in the walls of the dam, these cyclonic rains caused water to enter from cracks in the walls, consequently leading to an increase in the water level of the reservoir much beyond the permissible limit.

World Water Day, 2004

In 2004, keeping with the then theme of World Water Day, which was Water and Disaster, Kryton undertook the Yogivemana Reservoir Project to repair the damages to the dam and to improve the existing situation. This involved the application of various Krystol Concrete Waterproofing products including Krystol Plug, Krystol Bari-cote, Krystol T1 and Krystol T2. The result of this was an immediate and visible reduction in the inflow of water and dusty dry conditions within 45 days. Owing to the success of this project and the effectiveness of our products, Krystol system has now become an integral part of the concrete of the reservoir.

Over the years, Kryton has continued to take similar initiatives that benefit the larger society. It has consistently been involved in many such projects and has taken pleasure in the subsequent victories.

We take this opportunity to wish you a happy WORLD WATER DAY and invite you to learn more about our award winning technology and the difference we are making to the world on www.kryton.in.
